Hello
everyone! My name is Imelda (ee-MEL-dah). Not a name you hear very often, feel
free to drop the ‘I’ and call me Melda. I’m newly married to my husband, Jabi,
and we live in a small city near San Francisco with our little over-energized
Shih Tzu, Lucas!
I have a
degree in Anthropology, I love to read and eat, and if I can choose my dream
job it would be to be an author or book critic! In the meantime, I (and Jabi for
that matter) work for a well-known health care organization and I’m content to
be there, for now.
When I’m
home I find I’m cleaning and finding ways to organize – it’s very therapeutic
for me to have everything in its place. I’m still very much making my house
into a home and decorating (I love Pottery Barn). I’m still learning how to
become a better cook and building my knowledge in better eating habits. Fitness
is still a challenge I’m working on too.
I’m thirty and I’m in this weird funk of finding a style that’s age
appropriate and I’m trying to restock my closet. How I wish everything I pinned
on my style board on Pinterest would just magically appear in my closet. Sigh…
Overall
I’m in this huge transitional period of my life. Jabi and I dated since our
senior year in high school, we were engaged for almost ten months, I’m married
now, I have to re-identify myself with my new last name, we are planning to
make our family grow, all the while I feel a bit lost in my career and self-image.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not moping about it, I just want this blog to serve as
a creative outlet for me. I’m sure I’m not the only one out there and I hope
this will serve as a positive source for others as well.
Thanks for
taking the time to read this and getting to know me a bit better! Until next
time, take care!
